PROKLETIJE NATIONAL PARK

Prokletije National Park covers the area along the border with Albania, from Trojan in the southwest to Starac in the northeast, with a length of 28 km.

The central part of the national park consists of areas above 1,200 m above sea level, where traces of glacial and karst processes are visible:

  • Volusnica
  • Carnations
  • Bjelič.

In addition to numerous peaks over 2,000 m high, there are three highest peaks of Montenegro within the park.

There are as many as 9 glacial lakes in the park, some of which are occasional. There are 42 species of plants and animals that are globally important.
The park is one of the six centers of European and one of the 158 centers of world biodiversity. It is one of the most important centers
biodiversity of birds, vascular flora and mammalian biocenters.
